I also agree with everyone here, Gin is an absolute idiot in this volume. I guess everyone follows who they perceive as the "strongest" even if that means being disloyal to someone who's been leading you forever. To be fair though, Gin does say "I don't want you to come with me." He never really encourages anyone to follow him and just respects everyone's decisions. He still takes unnecessary and foolish risks though.
That being said, I still really enjoyed reading this chapter. There was quite a few awesome fight scenes.
Oh, and I think there's a small typo on page 39, "... we don't know know how much..." It should maybe be "...we don't know now how much..."? I feel really bad for pointing that out because everything is so perfect. I figured if you ever re-uploaded for some reason you might want to know so you can fix it.
Now I'm off to read volume 5. Wish me luck....
That mistake is completely M-92 Mantis's fault, and I'm not responsible in any way shape or form. So you can trust us... just not his editing job. As for your volume comments, I completely agree. I'd never trust Wilson after just watching him try to break a kid's neck by shaking it... Especially if I was bringing said kid into my group, after. And why is Wilson okay with that part, either? I know it's Kurojaki he hates, but Chibi-Tesshin is just going to be a constant reminder for him. I'm surprised Akame's okay with it, for that matter.
I'd never really thought about that aspect of Cross trying to save him, either... You're right, it really does look bad when you analyze it. Surely she's not the only one who could have gotten there in time, so it kind of makes her look... expendable, that she's the only one Yoshi had even attempt. And then trying to pass it off as, "oh, well she's a girl, so... she wants to save kids," really does just backfire in making every other character look like a sociopath who didn't even care. They actually didn't react much to Cross killing herself, either. Even Smith scolding Hyena for his callous comment was really tame under the circumstances, seeing as saving an innocent life would normally be the epitome of heroic in the Ginga-verse. I guess maybe Yoshi forgot, because he already knew she'd be alive, but it still looks really bad.
I have nothing much more to say about Gin. He did tell them they shouldn't come, but it seemed more a formality, to me. Like he knew they would and had no plans on stopping them more firmly, anyway.
Volume 5?! :trollicongasp: Godspeed... :lookofshock:
